Director of Bands
Mr. Boyce is currently the Director of Bands at Terrell ISD. He was previously the head director at Community ISD. the associate director at Stone Middle School, as well as the percussion coordinator director at Stone/North Lamar ISD and associate director at the High School. There, the bands have received Bronze, Silver, and Gold at State Marching Contest, named TMEA Honor Band, numerous finalist "Outstanding Performance Series" and several 1st place awards. The percussion there also place 3rd in the PASIC Chamber Ensemble Competition.
Roderick received his Bachelors in Music Education at Southern Arkansas University. In his spare time, Mr. Boyce composes and arranges for marching and concert ensemble where his marching shows have been performed at SMBC and has finished as high as 1st and 3rd in the State.
Mr. Boyce also team teaches with Mr. Chavez, Mr. Carter, Ms. Howell, Mrs. Aguillon, and Mr. Davidson at Furlough Middle School.
His philosophy is to give an enjoyable and productive experience to students which will hopefully result for them to further succeed in music as well as in life.

Assistant HS Director
Mr. Chávez was born and raised in Mesquite, TX, and is returning to the Tiger Band Family for another great year of growth and success! Mr. Chávez went to Oklahoma Baptist University and has taught at both the middle school and high school levels. Mr. Chávez is the director of the THS Symphonic Band and assists the other THS and FMS bands. He also teaches beginner double reeds at FMS.

Percussion Director
Mr. Ashton Carter is the Percussion Director for Terrell ISD where he teaches at both Terrell High School and Furlough Middle School. Originally from Paris, Texas, Mr. Carter received his Bachelors in Music Education at Texas A&M University-Commerce under Dr. Brian Zator and his Masters in Percussion Performance at the University of Houston under Dr. Blake Wilkins. As a performer, he performed as a featured soloist at TMEA with the Texas A&M-Commerce Percussion Ensemble, as well as won 1st place in both the 2021 Black Swamp Collegiate Snare Competition and the 2021 Tierras Snare Drum Competition. He was a member of the Boston Crusaders Drum & Bugle Corps in 2021 and while at UH, served as a Graduate Assistant and Drumline Instructor for the Spirit of Houston Marching Band.

Head MS Director
Mrs. Aguillon Montez is the Head Director for Furlough MS. Originally from San Antonio, Texas, Mrs. Aguillon Montez received her Bachelors in Music Education at Texas Christian University (TCU) in 2014 and her Masters in Music at Texas A&M University-Commerce (TAMUC) in 2020.
Prior to Furlough, Mrs. Aguillon worked at Coyle Tech MS in Garland ISD where she directed the Non-Varsity band, and taught all beginning woodwinds.
Mrs. Aguillon performs regularly with the Plano Clarinet Choir (Eb Clarinet) and with other regional community bands. Her professional affiliations include the Texas Bandmasters Association, Texas Music Educators Association, and the International Clarinet Association.

Assistant MS Director
Mr. Davidson is the assistant middle school director at Furlough Middle School. He received his bachelors from TWU & UNT in music education. While in College Mr. Davidson marched in Genesis Drum and Bugle Corps as well as served as the Vice President of the Pioneer's Music Educators Association and the President of the Pioneer Ambassador of Tuba and Euphonium. In 2020, Mr. Davidson was in the CBDNA Southwestern Division Intercollegiate Honor Band. He is truly excited to be teaching here at Terrell ISD.

Color Guard Director
Ms. Howell is the color guard director at both Furlough Middle School and Terrell High School. Additionally, Ms. Howell also teaches beginning flute at the middle school. Originally from Houston, Texas, she attended SFA and graduated with a Bachelor's in Music Education. She is thrilled to be teaching at Terrell ISD this year.
